Richard Fryer, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Fryer is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only certification recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties for Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Fryer attended medical school at the University of Utah and then completed a general surgery residency at the University of Arizona. He returned to the University of Utah for a plastic surgery residency and was trained in all aspects of cosmetic and plastic surgery. Upon completion of his training he was selected to remain at the University of Utah as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery to help train and instruct surgical residents in cosmetic and plastic surgery.

During his tenure at the University of Utah he cared for some of the most difficult and challenging plastic surgery cases in the intermountain west. In 2008 Dr. Fryer began private practice, and still remains Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Fryer is dedicated to helping you achieve your cosmetic and reconstructive goals. He wants to help you attain both beauty and confidence. Dr. Fryer is dedicated to his patients and is known for his empathy, fun personality, and attention to detail. In addition to his expert surgical skills, he is devoted to the highest quality pre and post-operative care necessary for the optimum surgical outcome. Dr. Fryer was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated with honors from the University of Utah.

Outside his excellent training and prestigious medical career, he has many interests that include: skiing, fly-fishing, hiking, reading, and most recently, triathlons. Dr. Fryer is married and has four wonderful children; his family is the driving force behind his hard work and dedication.
